Each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving in the Mansfield park.

Additional Get-Togethers
We meet as needed for additional street clean-up flashmobs. tree trimming efforts, potlucks, etc posted on our listserv. Northwest Neighborhood Association will update this Google Calendar when any major neighborhood events are planned. Events related to the neighborhood but not planned by the Neighborhood Association may also be added from time to time.

NWNA has adopted all our green streets and committed to regular cleanups through Tucson Clean and Beautiful.  This includes the  4th Ave curb core basins, Elm St stormwater harvesting chicanes, the 5th ave street narrowing greenery and the 5th ave green alley. We've also adopted the alley aligned with 3rd ave between Seneca and Linden and hope for granting funds to help us improve that landscape and drainage.

Harambee Festival
Hank Raymond came up with the idea to celebrate a Harambee Festival as a way to bring African Americans in Tucson together. Many objects made by early African Americans reflected, naturally enough, West African styles and usage – the Akan drum, for example. The sounding of
the drum was a means of calling everyone in an African tribe to join in a call and response to traditional African songs, and a means of unity. Tribe unity thrived around the assembling. In Africa the drum call was the “center of attention”.

Eggstravaganza
On the Saturday before each Easter, this free, community event is about family fun. The all-ages party attracts more than 2,000 Tucson youth. Activities include music, games, inflatables, prizes, egg hunts, and the Easter Bunny. A variety of food also is usually available for purchase from local vendors.
