Hello Neighbors,
Here's
a friendly reminder that voting day is tomorrow so make sure to
exercise your rights and make your vote count! If you're voting address
is in the neighborhood boundaries chances are you will be able to cast
your vote or drop of your mail in ballot at our very own Donna R.
Liggins Center on 6th Ave. Polls are open from 6 am to 7 pm. Hope to see
you there!
Many
important items will be on the ballot this season, like Prop 407, which
will direct millions of dollars into improving parks and infrastructure
including Mansfield Park. Also, Green Party activist Beryl Baker is
running for State House in district three. Her grassroots platform is a
great alternative if you're looking for local minded politicians. Check
out the link below for more info on her campaign or come to our next
neighborhood meeting on Dec. 5th if you'd like to meet her!
Last,
the Sugar Hill Coalition in collaboration with BICAS, is having a Block
Party this Saturday at Mansfield Park at 3 pm! There will be food,
giveaways, music, an arts and craft station, and more! Make sure to stop
by and learn about the free education programs that the Sugar Hill
Coalition is organizing and discover more about the non profit
cooperative BICAS, whose home is in the newly incorporated area on 7th
and Ventura. Check out the flyer below.
That's all for now, Neighbors! Remember to get out and vote and I'll see you all on Saturday!
Until Then,
Sadie
